Birthday Time

You can bet that during your time with these littlies there will be so many little ones running up to you to tell you that it is their birthday that week or that day.

Aging is important to the Young

Birthdays are very important, very, very important to little ones, to be 4, is massive, to be 5 even bigger and so it goes on. 

Celebrate with them

I would always have a beautifully wrapped box with a lid called the “Birthday Box”, in there would be both little take home toys and sweets.  I would also keep a stash of birthday cards that I would quickly write out to little Johnny or Milly!

Something to eat and something to keep

Out of the box the birthday child would be allowed to choose something to eat and something to keep, it’s difficult as the others look on with envious eyes, especially the little ones just not understanding, but it is important to be included in their special time and for the others to learn that is how it goes on Birthdays.

Singing

Before morning tea my right hand woman would always remind me whose birthday it was and we would all sing happy birthday to the child.  This is one of the few times that little ones do sing, so encourage it!
