Big thoughts on little people.
God Bless all the volunteers, we are all so lucky to have wonderful people who are happy to work alongside us, work with us, and help bring the Word of God to the children.
If you are anything like me you will start your Christmas teaching in November because one month is just not long enough to teach this wonderful biblical story.
The craft for this week is angels, angels, angels, you can find many crafts on line with regard to this. See our crafts section for those that I have chosen.
Jesus said, “So then anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like wise man who builds his house on rock. “
Everyone followed Jesus, Good friends tell their friends about Jesus, Jesus can heal.
Teaching the Lord’s prayer to children should be a fun and repetitive lesson within your group. It will be a lesson that sets them up for life.
All of these elements will fill your morning and the hope is that with your team you will be able to move from one “Time” through to the next all in a one and a half hour morning with the children.
Show parents that the structure of your morning is planned and important. Give the parents ownership to ask questions like ‘What did you learn in Matt Time today?’.
You will find that when the children have been with you for some time, they run over and put in their latest colouring and file it all by themselves as pleased as punch!
We pray before we eat because Jesus told us to. Just before Jesus went to be on the Cross for Us like we have learnt at Easter Time, he got all his friends together and gave them bread (a snack) and wine (we have water).
Each week I like the children to make something that they can take home showing this bible verse.
Letting the children create their own little book in November gives them the opportunity to do Faith at Home where they can get an adult to read the book with them at bedtime. The children become very proud of their little books.
So many wonderful things you can do with the Children at Christmas around craft, I think it’s important that they make something they can bring home and it appears every year as they grow.
For this craft there are lots of colouring in pages on the internet, however I usually only do this lesson over one week as a fill in week. I like to do this craft as it really reiterates, Faith at Home.
This craft is about reiterating, Jesus heals, how good the friends were to the sick man, and having fun lowering a man through a roof can be!
The important thing is that every week the children are learning a new part of the prayer that will set them up for a life of praying that one wonderful prayer that Jesus gave to us.
Each week of this craft will be producing a fantastic picture that will represent the days of creation that will be used up on stage with a magical song.
