Hole in the roof Craft

Each week I try to get the children to understand how the friends actually lowered their friend into the building via the roof. So the craft relates to that. Also I have colouring in pages that I use during Play Time so that this reiterates the story that we are learning each week.

The craft for the first week introduces the Children to “how” the friends would have got the man up to the roof, they would have carried him up some steps to the roof. Explain to the children that in those days when Jesus walked our Earth, most roof tops would have been flat.

This craft by truewaykids.com involves cutting out the bricks (some will need help with this) and then gluing the bricks in the shaded part showing a way up to the roof . This is a great craft and the children quickly get the concept of how the friends got up to the roof.

The next craft involves making a stretcher out of wooden sticks and then sticking the man onto the stretch, the children love colouring in the man and sticking him on the stretcher.

The last and final craft if you are doing this over three weeks lights the children up! I am so grateful for these crafts that I have researched on the internet and people sharing them is a complete blessing to many. For this craft I print out onto card, and I use a craft knife to cut a line so the insert can slide through showing the man lowered into the building to be healed by Jesus.
